Grace Pilkington is a book publicist who has worked in the publishing industry for over thirteen years. She was Head of Publicity at Quartet Books for ten years and has worked on publicity projects for companies including Trolley Books, Harper Collins and Pushkin Press. Books and people have always been her passion and as soon as she found a career that combined the two, she knew it was her calling!

Grace will have an initial video meeting with you to discuss your book, what your dreams are and what your budget is and then she’ll put together a plan for your approval. She will then begin the process - writing a press release, contacting the media and creating online traction. The campaign can lead up to publication date or beyond. She will give weekly updates and be contactable at any point, should the author have any questions. She can also talk you through other elements of the publishing process and, with experience in sales and copy editing, she can help you write pieces to publicise your work and approach bookshops and potential stockists. Grace also has contacts in printing, distribution and still works closely with Quartet’s ex-managing editor should you need editorial assistance.

EVENTS
events.
Grace can arrange events and literary festival appearances to help promote your book. When it comes to events, each author has different needs and Grace will focus on the details, such as fee, travel and accommodation, so you don't have to. Grace can also organise your book launch. With a wealth of experience organising low budget launches in bookshops such as Daunt Books or Waterstones and high budget launches in venues such as The Groucho Club, The Ritz and Fortnum & Mason, she can find the right venue for you and aim to get press coverage for the event.
